The Family Credit Union awards $3,000 in college scholarships

The Family Credit Union, a not-for-profit financial cooperative headquartered in Davenport, recently announced the three recipients of its $3,000 scholarship program.

Each year, The Family provides three types of scholarships to its members and their families to support their higher education. This year, each recipient was awarded a $1,000 scholarship.

The different scholarships and their awardees include:

  • Keith Ruefer Memorial Scholarship- Nidia Villalpando (Attending University of Iowa)
  • Kevin Post Memorial Scholarship- Delainey Woodman (Attending University of Dubuque)
  • Family Hispanic Scholarship- Anamaria Chavez (Attending University of Northern Iowa)

Each applicant is required to share their future plans, extracurricular activities, and answer a question about how this scholarship would benefit their future in higher education.

“It’s an honor to support students as they work toward their future goals,” said The Family Credit Union CEO Michael Brandt. “We’re proud to provide scholarships that help them take the next step in their education and continue our commitment to supporting the communities we serve.”

These scholarship opportunities reflect The Family’s ongoing commitment to education, community growth, and supporting the next generation of leaders.
