The Global Credit Union Podcast – Episode 31: Growing membership at WOCCU and across our global movement
MADISON, WI (November 16, 2023) — Thom Belekevich, World Council of Credit Unions’ (WOCCU) Director of Member Services, helped open the door of WOCCU membership to more credit union associations and even some individual credit unions for the first time in 2023. He joins Episode 31 of the Global Credit Union Podcast to discuss the expansion of our membership categories, the types of organizations it opens up eligibility to and why it should enrich WOCCU’s diversity even more moving forward.
Thom also led the data collection for WOCCU’s 2022 Statistical Report, which shows the global credit union movement is now more than 400 million members strong. He explains where that growth is occurring, the common denominators among the countries seeing those gains and how COVID-19 impacted the ability of some countries to continue capturing quality credit union data.
