DEER PARK, TX (November 11, 2015) — For the fifth year, Shell Federal Credit Union has been named one of the Houston Chronicle’s Top Workplaces. Shell FCU ranked number eight in the mid-size category and was the only financial institution to place in the top ten. The Top Workplace awards recognize outstanding Houston-area businesses based on employee surveys. More than 79,000 Houston-area employees evaluated their employers for this year’s Top Workplaces section. Companies are measured on several qualities by their employees such as opportunities for advancement, the value of their pay, benefits, and their bosses’ communication and management skills.
In addition to the Top Workplaces, The Houston Chronicle singles out executives for performance in special categories. The Top Workplaces Leadership Award, among mid-size companies, was presented to Shell FCU’s President/CEO, Jose Rodriguez. The Houston Business Journal also named Shell FCU as one of the 2015 Best Places To Work. This year, Shell FCU moved up the list four spots to number twelve. The Houston Business Journal scoring is based on employees’ thoughts on their company’s corporate culture, amenities, benefits, worker-retention and attraction strategies.
