The York Chapter of Credit Unions awards two scholarships!

YORK, PA (July 6, 2020) — The York Chapter of Credit Unions announced the winners of its 2020 scholarship contest; Madison Cook and Olivia Smeltzer. Both received $1,000 to go towards their first year of schooling.

Madison Cook is a member of York Educational Federal Credit Union. She is the daughter of Clifford and Sherry Cook. Madison is a graduate of Dover Area High School where she was part of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and a Distinguished honor roll student. Madison was a member of the Dover marching band, varsity soccer and softball. Madison plans to attend York College of Pennsylvania to major in Medical Laboratory Science and pursue minors in Biological Science, Chemistry and Neuroscience.

Olivia Smeltzer is a member of Glatco Credit Union. She is the daughter of Kristen Smeltzer. Olivia is a graduate of Dallastown Area High School where she was a member of Future Leaders of York, Dallastown Forensics Team, Girls Learn International, Dallastown Counselor Advisory Committee, and a Distinguished Young Women of York award winner. Olivia plans to attend Mount St. Mary’s University and use her education to develop an understanding of ethical leadership and business practices in an increasingly globalized world.
