Tina Jones named to 2019-20 National Youth Involvement Board Executive Committee

Jones also to serve two-year term as NYIB North Central Regional Coordinator

ST. PAUL, MN (August 15, 2019) — Hiway Federal Credit Union® (Hiway)’s Tina Jones was named to the Executive Committee for The National Youth Involvement Board during the recent NYIB Annual Conference in Washington DC.  Jones was also selected to serve as the North Central Regional Coordinator for the NYIB.

Jones, who oversees Hiway’s community outreach programming and serves as Hiway’s liaison to their four high school credit union branches, has been involved with NYIB for seven years, serving as Minnesota’s delegate to the 2018 Annual NYIB Conference and as an attendee at the 2019 Annual Conference.

“NYIB does a wonderful job of bringing credit unions and credit union professionals from around the country, together for collaboration, guidance and education,” said Jones. “I look forward to continuing that as a member of the Executive Team and in my role as North Central Regional Coordinator.  Minnesota, along with the other seven states in our region, have always been strong supporters of the credit union movement and the credit unions’ commitment to youth financial education.”

Every two years the NYIB Network elects six regional coordinators who serve in a volunteer capacity to propagate NYIB mission and goals throughout their regions. The coordinators also represent the NYIB at credit union movement functions, provide assistance to NYIB state boards and make youth and family marketing presentations at league, chapter and credit union meetings.

The National Youth Involvement Board (NYIB) is a nationwide, volunteer-led network of credit union educators and marketers committed to youth outreach. NYIB volunteers include a delegate from each state, a liaison from each league, individuals who report classroom presentations, members of state youth involvement and youth advisory boards, and hundreds of enthusiastic credit union volunteers and professionals.
