TMG CEO Shazia Manus named finalist in Stevie® Awards for Women in Business

Manus will accept her award on November 18 in New York

DES MOINES, IA (October 11, 2016) — “Impossible is a word to be found only in the dictionary of fools.” Des Moines businesswoman Shazia Manus calls this phrase she learned from her grandfather her personal mantra. Throughout her childhood in Bangladesh, Manus was guided by these words. They helped her overcome societal and cultural pressures relegating women to second-class citizens. Now CEO of payments processor TMG, Manus has established herself as an influential female leader.

Manus was recently named a finalist in the Female Executive of the Year – Business Services category in the 13th annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, employees and the companies they run – worldwide. Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award winners will be announced during a gala event at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York on Friday, November 18.

“During her tenure with TMG, Shazia has made tremendous contributions to the company’s growth and success,” said Patrick S. Jury, CEO and Chairman of Affiliates Management Company, the parent company of TMG. “She has helped TMG explore new frontiers in payment innovations such as digital, security and blockchain. I look forward to seeing what new heights she helps TMG reach in the coming years.”

Named one of PaymentsSource’s Most Influential Women in Payments earlier this year, Manus is a strong advocate for the advancement of women in business. She serves on the Global Women’s Leadership Network, mentors several aspiring leaders and readily shares her story to inspire others.

Finalists for the Stevie Awards for Women in Business were chosen by more than 110 business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging.  Members of five final judging committees will determine the Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award placements from among the finalists during final judging October 17-26.

“The competition has grown each year because there are so many high-achieving women all over the world, who serve as an inspiration to those who would like to start, grow or lead a business,” said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of the Stevie Awards.  “We’re looking forward to recognizing these outstanding women in New York on November 18.”
