Tony Dungy returns to Tampa to “Coach” attendees of CSCU’s 2014 Solutions Conference

TAMPA, FL (January 31, 2014) -- Card Services for Credit Unions (CSCU) today announced Tony Dungy will serve as a keynote speaker for its 2014 Solutions Conference, to be held at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort & Golf Club in St. Petersburg, Fla., May 14 - 18, 2014. The #1 New York Times bestselling author and former NFL head coach will address conference attendees on Friday, May 16 at 11:00am.

“We are honored to have a speaker of Tony Dungy’s personal and professional caliber to address our credit union members and to offer our conference attendees real-life takeaways based on his proven leadership principles,” said Robert Hackney, president of CSCU.  “In the public spotlight, even in the face of adversity, he has demonstrated the qualities of a great leader with strong character; and we admire the dignity and values with which he has led teams and individuals to experience both personal and professional victories.”

Dungy’s professional accolades include being the first African-American NFL head coach to lead his team to a Super Bowl victory as well as the first NFL head coach to lead his teams to the playoffs for ten consecutive years.  Dungy currently works as a studio analyst for NBC’s Football Night in America; serves as the national spokesman for All Pro Dad, the national fatherhood program of the non-profit organization Family First; and he is dedicated to mentoring others, especially young people.

Also delivering a keynote speech at the conference on Thursday, May 15 at 1:30pm is John Foley, former lead solo pilot for the United States Navy's Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron.  In this capacity, Foley consistently performed in intense, high stakes environments; and as a speaker, he combines his rich experience and unique insights to equip organizations, teams and individuals to pursue their highest goals, achieve breakthrough performance and sustain results.  Foley will demonstrate actionable ways to close performance gaps with an energetic and enthusiastic presentation to conference attendees.

As previously announced by CSCU, Captain Richard Phillips, the real-life inspiration for the movie “Captain Phillips” starring Tom Hanks, will also serve as a conference keynote speaker on Saturday, May 17 at 7:00pm.  Captain Phillips will discuss his heroic experience and remarkable rescue after five days of capture by Somali pirates in April 2009, which marked the first hijacking of a U.S. ship in more than 200 years.
