Top local credit union bolsters Business Banking Division with two high-impact hires

New hires bring over 50 years of combined industry expertise to APG Federal Credit Union, along with a passion for empowering local businesses

APG Federal Credit Union (APGFCU®), a trusted and growing credit union serving Baltimore City, as well as Baltimore, Harford and Cecil counties, announced two high-impact hires that will instantly strengthen the credit union’s business banking capabilities. Kimberly Austing and Michael Galeone join APGFCU as business banking loan officers, bringing more than 50 years of combined industry expertise.

These hires mark another significant step forward for APGFCU’s growing business banking department, which has expanded its loan portfolio by 20 percent this year and introduced new treasury management products to its offerings. With extensive backgrounds and expertise in commercial lending and financing, Austing and Galeone will provide enhanced support for businesses throughout the region.

Their responsibilities will include building and maintaining member relationships, structuring and underwriting credit requests, and advancing community-focused empowerment initiatives.

Austing has over two decades of experience in business and retail banking, credit strategy and relationship management. She previously held senior leadership positions at M&T Bank and Wells Fargo Bank, where she led high-performing teams, managed portfolios for clients with revenues up to $30 million and led impactful community engagement programs.

Galeone has over 30 years of experience driving growth, building client trust and leading high-performing teams. Before joining APGFCU, he worked at First National Bank of Pennsylvania and M&T Bank, where he managed complex client portfolios, generated new business through targeted networking and coached teams to exceed sales and performance goals.
