TraceSecurity CTO and GRC expert Jim Stickley to keynote October cyber events

Company Co-Founder Highlights Hidden Risks Organizations Can Avoid and How to Reduce Exposure to Increasing Data Security Threats

BATON ROUGE, LA (October 1, 2013) -- TraceSecurity, the pioneer in cloud-based IT governance, risk and compliance (GRC) solutions, today announced that Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder Jim Stickley will keynote major cyber security events this month, lending his deep information security expertise to organizations looking to protect critical data and improve their overall security posture.

Today, in Colombia, SC, Stickley opens the Carolina Technology Conference & EXPO with his keynote address, “Confessions of an Identity Thief.” As a cyber security expert, Stickley has been hired by corporations, public and private firms and news agencies to steal credits cards, hack Social Security numbers, create fake ATM bank accounts, break into government facilities or otherwise uncover and close security flaws before the real criminals find and take advantage of them.

Later this month, Stickley is keynoting sessions on the “Hidden Risks of Mobile Computing” at the ISSA International Security Conference in Nashville, TN; and again at the Cyber Security Summit in Minneapolis, MN. In the modern world of “bring your own device to work” (BYOD), Stickley says mobile applications are becoming a major security threat to organizations. In these presentations, he will advise firms on how to reduce exposure, including what to look for when downloading new applications, review today’s most typical intrusions, and evaluate best practices and policies for managing overall mobile risk.

“With the many security tools that have been deployed by organizations in recent years, it’s easy to become complacent with your risk posture,” noted Stickley. “That’s a big mistake in a constantly evolving environment of new technologies and first-to-market applications. When clients become victims of a security breach, it costs the organization time and money. In most cases, the breaches can be easily avoided by following a disciplined governance, risk and compliance management strategy. Constant vigilance and the right tools can dramatically reduce the complexities of ever-changing threats and new technology – and empower organizations to better pursue their strategic objectives.”

TraceSecurity provides risk management and compliance solutions for organizations that need to protect critical data or meet IT security mandates. The company’s popular TraceCSO software solution has been heralded as the industry’s first product to fully automate security and compliance management. The company is focusing its efforts throughout the balance of this year to expand speaking opportunities and other initiatives aimed at growing the awareness of its innovative cloud-based, TraceCSO solution.
