VACAVILLE, CA (December 18, 2025) |
Travis Credit Union (TCU) announced today the inaugural winners of its Teacher Grant Program, a first-ever initiative providing five $1,000 grants to K–12 educators across Northern California. The program was created to help teachers enhance classroom learning through new supplies, technology, and creative projects that directly benefit students.
The five winning educators, selected from dozens of applications representing schools across TCU’s 12-county service area, were chosen for their demonstrated commitment to student success.
“This grant program is our way of saying thank you and ensuring educators have the resources they need to inspire the next generation.” said Kevin Miller, president and chief executive officer at Travis Credit Union.

Natalie Hart of Bethany Lutheran School shared that the grant will empower her 5th- and 6th-grade students to create blessing baskets for first responders and individuals experiencing homelessness. “Through this project, students will have the joy of giving and learn the importance of serving others. We are so thankful for TCU’s support, as this opportunity allows my students to make a real difference while growing in compassion and faith,” said Hart.
At Rodriguez High School, recipient Alicia Salomon plans to use the funds to support a series of hands-on, community-focused art and literacy projects. Her students will paint the school’s golf carts, illustrate and write children's stories to share with elementary students at Oakbrook, and paint a mural in Suisun City. Alicia expressed her deep gratitude to TCU for investing back into the community.
The Teacher Grant Program builds on TCU’s long history of educational outreach, including the Generation Wealth financial education initiative which has reached more than 13,000 students since 2009, and the Community Impact Scholarship Program which has awarded nearly $700,000 to over 400 students since 2004. These initiatives reflect the credit union’s belief that strong schools help create strong communities.
