MIRAMAR, FL (December 3, 2013) -- Some lucky South Florida consumers could get up to a $200 credit on their holiday shopping bill this year thanks to a creative new program designed by the not-for-profit Tropical Financial Credit Union. “Days of Giving”, as the program is called, gives credit union members a chance to receive money back for qualified purchases they make using a Tropical Financial debit card. The program runs from Monday, December 2 through December 31.
“This is our way of giving back to our members who support us all year long,” said Amy McGraw, vice president of marketing for Tropical Financial. Anyone who lives or works in Palm Beach, Broward or Miami-Dade counties is eligible to become a Tropical Financial member.
Each morning, the credit union will randomly select one winner from the automatic entries from qualified debit card transactions or alternate entry submissions that occurred the day before. For winners resulting from an automatic debit card transaction entry, the entire amount of that transaction will be returned to the person who made it up to $200. For a winning non-purchase entry, $200 will be awarded. The credit union processes on average 2,000 debit card purchases in any given day said McGraw.
“The more people use their cards, the better chance they will be chosen and receive one of their purchases back,” said Amy McGraw. A winner can only be selected once to get money back.
