Truliant names Fishel marketing director

WINSTON-SALEM, NC (May 9, 2017) — Truliant Federal Credit Union has named Craig Fishel to the new role of marketing director.

In this role, Fishel will ensure that Truliant’s marketing satisfies the needs of new and current member owners, and aligns with business needs of the credit union. He will oversee Truliant marketing and communications activities that extend across public and community relations, grassroots, social media, membership, paid media, education, research and data analytics.

Fishel brings a broad mix of experience to Truliant that includes two decades in the public relations and marketing fields, including leadership positions at national brands. He reports to Karen DeSalvo, Chief Marketing Officer at Truliant.

“Craig impressed us with the depth of his experience,” DeSalvo said. “As Truliant grows, our members will benefit from his leadership and his success in a constantly evolving marketing and media landscape.”

Fishel began his career as a marketing communications associate in 1998 with Cramblitt & Company in Cary, N.C. He later moved to Winston-Salem to work for Fyock & Associates and Mullen LHC as a public relations account executive.

He joined R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in 2001 as an assistant public relations representative and eventually became communications manager. In 2008, he became communications manager for Home Depot in Atlanta and later senior manager of public relations.

In 2012, Fishel returned to North Carolina and began public relations and marketing firm Upstream Public Relations. Most recently, he managed social media and digital campaigns for Dale Folwell’s successful campaign for N.C. Treasurer, among other clients.
