DuPage Credit Union recently awarded a total of $10,000 in grant monies to twenty-five DuPage County teachers during its first-ever Classroom Color Grant competition to help fund bright ideas in their classrooms.
As an organization founded by educators, DuPage Credit Union believes that one idea, one small splash of color, can transform an ordinary classroom into a beautiful learning adventure.
Color Grant applicants were asked to submit a detailed goal and objectives to how they would use grant monies to add color to their classroom. A committee of four DuPage Credit Union Team Members scored each application and grants were awarded to those receiving the highest cumulative scores.
Grant monies helped purchase everything from flexible seating options, books for classroom libraries, educational games and even ukuleles to just name a few.
“Our Team was wowed by the creativity and dedication of all Color Grant applicants,” said Amy Brandt, Vice President of Business Solutions. “We were overwhelmed by the positive feedback and enjoy seeing how the money has already sparked color in so many classrooms through thank you notes, tweets and photos.”
Grant Recipients included teachers from: Crone Middle School, DuJardin Elementary School, Erickson Elementary School, Gombert Elementary School, Indian Trail Junior High School, Lincoln Elementary School, Lincoln Junior High School, Marquardt Middle School, Medinah Intermediate School, Medinah Primary School, Metea Valley High School, Neuqua Valley High School, Owen Elementary School, Prairieview Elementary School, Reskin Elementary School, Stone Elementary School, Stratford Middle School, Wesley Elementary School, Western Trails Elementary School and Whittier School.
