Two Illinois Credit Union leaders inducted into the Credit Union House Hall of Leaders

NAPERVILLE, ILLINOIS (March 13, 2024) — The Illinois Credit Union League is thrilled to announce the induction of two dedicated and impactful credit union leaders, Alan Meyer and Mike Valentine, into the prestigious Credit Union House Hall of Leaders. The esteemed recognition acknowledges their long-standing commitment and exceptional contributions to the credit union movement.

Alan Meyer has served 1^st MidAmerica Credit Union since 2002, holding various roles before assuming the role of President in 2013. He is an involved leader and champion for credit union advocacy at all levels. Alan has served on the Board of the Illinois Credit Union League since 2010, CUNA’s NARP/NAF Steering Committee, and Advocacy Committee. He is an active participant in the Southern Burnett Chapter of Credit Unions as well. In his local community, Meyer served as Champaign Chair for the Southwest Illinois District of the United Way, on the board of the Riverbend Growth Association, and Metro East Regional Leadership Council of the American Cancer Society.

Mike Valentine has been a driving force at Baxter Credit Union (BCU) for nearly three decades. He prioritizes employee well-being, values direct conversation and building meaningful relationships while delivering on BCU’s success as in industry leader in growth, member experience, capital, ROA, and innovation. Mike is a fierce advocate for financial well-being for all and digital transformation, with laser focus and dedication on creating extraordinary member experiences. Among many previous board and committee leadership roles, Mike is currently the Board Chair for TruStage, serves on the CUNA CEO Council Executive Committee, and the VISA Client Advisory Council.
