United Federal Credit Union adds more strength to bench with Associate Directors of Board
ST. JOSEPH, MI (September 11, 2015) — United Federal Credit Union (UFCU) has named three additional associate directors to its board of directors. Troy Tolle, James McClenahan, and Sean Yaffe join Dana Wales, who was selected to fill the first associate director position last month.
The newly-created Associate Director Program is designed to provide a prepared and ready supply of succession candidates for the board of directors, ensuring continuity of board leadership.

Tolle is co-founder and chief technical officer of Infinity Learning Solutions based in Asheville, North Carolina. Tolle is the architect of the company’s flagship product, DigitalChalk, an SaaS platform for creating and delivering online education courses. He is recognized as a thought leader in cloud technology and is called upon to mentor and advise startup entrepreneurs and Fortune 500 companies. Tolle has more than fifteen years of experience in the information technology industry and also served as an adjunct instructor at North Carolina State University. Tolle earned his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in computer science at North Carolina State University, Raleigh, where he was named a Most Distinguished Alumni.
McClenahan is director of corporate relations and outreach for the College of Business at the University of Nevada, Reno. In this position, he is responsible for connecting students to the business community, recruiting graduate students, and administering the Corporate Partners program at the College. McClenahan administers the Nevada Global Business Program, and is an organizer of TEDxUniversityofNevada, an annual speaking event that produces videos seen by over 10 million viewers. He served on the boards of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, Western Industrial Nevada, and Latino Education Foundation. McClenahan holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Yaffe is vice president and regional operations manager of The Yaffe Company Inc., one of the largest privately owned scrap metal processing operations in the Midwest. The family-owned business was formed in 1907 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and now operates in Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas in addition to Arkansas. Yaffe has served on the board of directors for the Gulf Coast chapter of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries. He is past president of the Arkansas Recycling Association. Yaffe holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management degree from John Brown University.
It was announced last month that Dana Wales would serve as the board’s first associate director. Wales is president and registered principal of Wales & Associates, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. Wales has been associated with Ameriprise Financial, formerly American Express Financial Advisors, since 1987. His service to American Express Financial Advisors, and leadership in the industry was recognized when he was named National Franchise Leader of the Year in 2005. Wales studied economics at the University of Michigan where he was selected as one of the top 25 male leaders on campus as an inductee into Michigamua, a senior leadership honorary society.
The appointments are effective immediately.
