United Federal Credit Union celebrates 14th year sponsoring Washoe County School District Secretaries Training

United Federal Credit Union (UFCU) is honored to continue its essential role of supporting the annual Washoe County School District (WCSD) Secretaries Training through a sponsorship donation of $10,000.

The sponsorship marks the 14th year that UFCU is the primary community sponsor of the WCSD Secretaries Training, benefiting over 103 schools and 400 clerical staff.

“Without UFCU, the WCSD would be limited in its ability to offer large scale training to our school secretaries and clerical staff, affecting over 400 jobs,” says WCSD project manager, Vangie Russell. “We are very grateful to UFCU’s continued support and generosity which is felt throughout Washoe County through employment opportunities and in the comfort and safety of our schools.”

The WCSD Secretaries Training teaches school secretaries and clerical staff everything from school year administrative changes and activities, and cultural competency training to legal compliance, accounting audits, and guidelines, as well as employee and payroll services. The program also covers purchasing restrictions, federal and state updates, skill-building activities, and more.

“By supporting the WCSD Secretaries Training, UFCU is ensuring the efficiency of the county school district and contributing to educating the county’s children,” says UFCU market vice president Meredith Williams. “We are honored to continue to play this role for 14 years and look forward to supporting Washoe County for years to come.”
