United Federal Credit Union and Gates Automotive driving contributions to Food Bank of Northern Indiana
ST. JOSEPH, MI (November 28, 2016) — United Federal Credit Union (UFCU) and Gates Automotive are teaming up to help fill the coffers of a local food bank. Food collection vehicles have been placed in three Gates showrooms, and the credit union is donating $40 for every UFCU auto loan processed through Gates between now and December 21, 2016. All donations will benefit the Food Bank of Northern Indiana.
The Food Bank of Northern Indiana works to feed the hungry, increase awareness of the effects of hunger and lead programs designed to alleviate hunger. The food bank serves Elkhart, Kosciusko, LaPorte, Marshall, Starke and St. Joseph Counties in Indiana, and is a member of Feeding America. Each dollar donated to the food bank can provide nine meals or 11 pounds of food. In 2014, the Food Bank of Northern Indiana distributed 7.1 million pounds of food to its network of 165 member agencies in its six-county service area.
UFCU Senior Vice President of Marketing Erin A. Hennessy says serving others is a core philosophy for the credit union.

With 30 branches nationwide, UFCU develops strong roots in every city it serves. It’s presence in the South Bend-Mishawaka area will continue to grow as it establishes brick-and-mortar facilities in the area in coming months.
To contribute to the food drive, items may be dropped at the following locations:

- Gates of Granger, 12815 State Road 23, Granger, Indiana
- Gates Toyota, 640 W Ireland Rd, South Bend, Indiana

- Soup (any type)
- Boxed Skillet Dinners (any type)
- Instant Mashed Potatoes
- Canned Fruit (any type)
- Macaroni and Cheese
- Canned Corn
- Canned Green Beans
- Pancake Mix
- Pancake Syrup
- Spaghetti
- Spaghetti Sauce
- Canned Chicken
- Canned Tuna
