United Federal Credit Union hosts free Community Shred Day at Reno Northwest Branch

RENO, NV (October 2, 2014) -- United Federal Credit Union’s (UFCU) Northwest Branch is hosting a free Community Shred Day in Reno on Thursday, October 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Members, non-Members, and businesses are invited to bring a maximum of four boxes of paper items to be shredded by Iron Mountain Inc. Items will be shredded on site.

“In the age of identity theft and personal security concerns, people and businesses are constantly putting themselves at risk by merely throwing documents out without a thought about where they might end up,” stated United Federal Credit Union Branch Manager Mayte Castro. “Shredding those documents can put your mind at ease.”

In addition to personal protection, there is also an environmental benefit to UFCU’s Shred Day. Iron Mountain is the largest provider of shredded recycled paper in North America and is AAA certified by the National Association for Information Destruction.

The UFCU Northwest Branch is located at 980 Ambassador Drive in Reno. Contact Mayte Castro at mcastro@unitedfcu.com (775) 329-6673 ext. 5962 for more information.
