United Way receives donation from First Capital FCU!
YORK, PA (December 14, 2017) — On Monday, December 11, 2017, First Capital Federal Credit Union’s President/CEO Sue DeStephano; Community Engagement Officer, Lisa Barshinger; and HR Manager Michele Wherley, presented a check for $1,010.00 to the United Way of York County’s Bob Bentley.
The money was raised through our First Cap Gives Back program, a new initiative for us this year. We selected four charities to support, one per quarter. And, the United Way was chosen as the 3rd Quarter charity. To raise money, staff sold soft pretzels to members at all our branches. Employees also paid $5.00 to wear jeans on a specific day(s). Through special fundraising, First Capital raised $1,010.00. That’s in addition to the $4,868 that First Capital employees pledged for the United Way annual campaign. All together, we raised $5,878 for the United Way.
“Thank you to the whole First Capital FCU team–for this generous gift,” said Bob Bentley. “We’re honored to be a recipient of your fundraising.”
