Unitus Community Credit Union kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month with celebration
PORTLAND, OR (September 14, 2021) — Unitus Community Credit Union is hosting a Hispanic Community Celebration to launch Hispanic Heritage Month. Unitus is celebrating the Hispanx and Latinx generations who have enriched our communities through social, cultural, and economic contributions.
Unitus will be hosting an outdoor family-friendly Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration, at their Unitus Plaza in downtown Portland on Friday September 17, 2021, from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. This special event will celebrate the culture of our Hispanx and Latinx community as well as Unitus’ recent designation as a Juntos Avanzamos credit union.
Unitus, and partners, have strived to create more opportunities and equity in our communities, and that deserves to be celebrated. Unitus is honored to be named a Juntos Avanzamos credit union, as there are less than 3% of credit unions in the U.S. with this prestigious designation. This independent designation is awarded to credit unions that have demonstrated a remarkable commitment to serving and
empowering Hispanic and immigrant consumers, a feat that usually takes five years to accomplish, yet Unitus worked diligently to earn this certification in just two years.

An important part of Unitus’ work is to support the Hispanx and Latinx community through partnerships with organizations that are dedicated to creating stronger communities to live, work, and play in.
