University of Hawai`i Federal Credit Union announces CEO Jeanine Morse’s retirement

HONOLULU, HI (December 30, 2017) — The Board of Directors of the University of Hawai`i Federal Credit Union (UHFCU) has announced the retirement of President and CEO Jeanine Morse.

“It is bittersweet for me to announce Jeanine’s retirement,” said Edward Yuen, UHFCU Chairman of the Board.  “Jeanine has played an integral part in the success of UHFCU, and we are appreciative of her years of service to the credit union.  The credit union has experienced unprecedented growth with Jeanine at the helm over the past several years.  Her leadership and vision for transformation have been invaluable and we are fortunate to have worked with her.”

Under Morse’s leadership since 2009, UHFCU has grown $200 million in assets, improved net worth from 8% to 12%, added three new branches, implemented a state-of-the-art core system, online and mobile services, and now serves nearly 30,000 members.  Morse’s commitment to controlling expenses, advancing internal talent, and providing exceptional member service has created an efficient organizational culture dedicated to putting members first.

“It’s with mixed emotions that I wish Jeanine a happy and healthy retirement,” said Yuen. “Jeanine has been a remarkable leader, and she has been an exceptional friend to all of us at UHFCU. As she transitions to a well-deserved retirement, all of us at the UHFCU will miss her immensely.”

“I would like to thank the Board of Directors for providing the opportunity to serve as their leader for the past nine years.  I am proud of the high level of financial services and cost savings we’ve been able to provide our membership.   With a strong management team, UHFCU will continue to be recognized as Hawai`i’s leading credit union,” said Jeanine Morse.

The Board of Directors has named Travis Bow as its new President and CEO, effective January 1, 2018.
