University of Hawai`i Federal Credit Union selling face masks to support Aloha United Way (AUW)

HONOLULU, HI (July 9, 2020) — Throughout the pandemic, the University of Hawai`i Federal Credit Union (UHFCU) has partnered with Aloha United Way (AUW) to offer support to thousands of local families that have been affected by the COVID-19 crisis.  Now UHFCU has designed limited-run face masks to help mitigate the spread of the virus as well as raise funds for AUW.

The UHFCU face masks are stylish, washable, and reusable for practicing healthy habits every day.  These aren’t just cotton masks, either.  The masks use unique, stretchy material to hug the curves of your face for more effective filtration while also maximizing comfort – making it easy to wear for long periods.  Each mask also comes with two (2) PM2.5 carbon activated filters for added protection.

Best of all, UHFCU will donate the proceeds from every mask sold to Aloha United Way (AUW).  These masks will be available in early August; however, UHFCU is holding an exclusive pre-sale for its members now for $7.50 per mask or just $20 for a bundle of 3 masks.

The response from UHFCU members has been overwhelmingly positive.  In just two days since they launched the pre-sale, UHFCU has sold over 750 masks and generated over $3,000 in donations to AUW.

“We’re honored to partner with AUW to help address our community’s needs as they relate to food insecurity, housing and shelter needs, rent and utilities, disaster response, medical needs, and other very worthy causes,” remarked UHFCU President and CEO Travis Bow.  “Credit unions are about people helping people, and we’re proud to truly embody that ideology at a crucial time in Hawai`i’s history.”

For more information on the UHFCU Mask Pre-Sale and to donate to AUW, visit https://www.uhfcu.com/mask.  The masks are available exclusively to UHFCU members; however, it’s fast and easy to join the credit union completely online in just a few minutes at UHFCU.com.
