LOS ANGELES, CA (December 4, 2014) -- With a $10,000 donation on the line, Notre Dame Federal Credit Union and USC Credit Union faced off in their second annual Credit Union Charity Challenge. In the end, USC Credit Union beat Notre Dame FCU by receiving 75 more auto loan applications, winning $10,000 for USC’s Good Neighbors Campaign.
The USC Good Neighbors Campaign is USC’s vehicle for raising money to support USC Good Neighbor grants, United Way and other nonprofit organizations. Since 1993, the USC Good Neighbors have made a positive impact on the neighborhoods surrounding the University Park and Health Sciences campuses.
Following last year’s win, USC Credit Union president and CEO, Gary Perez, was challenged to a rematch by Notre Dame FCU’s President and CEO, Tom Gryp. The challenge was set, $5,000 was pledged by each credit union, the charities were chosen and the famed rivalry began anew.
On November 3, 2014, USC Credit Union kicked off their BEAT ND $10,000 Charity Challenge Marketing Campaign. Packed with aggressive social media exposure and a new interactive microsite–complete with daily score updates and a countdown timer- the campaign garnered an immense social buzz and following.
USC Credit Union congratulates Notre Dame FCU for putting up a good fight and for the donation made to the Good Neighbors Campaign at USC.
