USF Federal Credit Union opening new, modern branch in New Tampa

TAMPA, FL (October 25, 2017) — USF Federal Credit Union is excited to announce the upcoming opening of their new, state-of-the-art branch conveniently located on Bruce B. Downs, near Interstate 75, in New Tampa. The fully redesigned New Tampa branch will feature the latest in eco-friendly building technology, a large community room, and an interactive layout. More importantly, this branch will better position USF FCU to deliver its financial products and services to members throughout the growing New Tampa area.

For USF FCU’s president and CEO, Richard Skaggs, the New Tampa branch is an important milestone in the history of the credit union. “We have a great new office coming and I couldn’t be more excited,” said Skaggs. “Long before construction began, we had a clear vision for this facility. The improved layout and innovative technology will allow our credit union to provide a superior experience to our members and help us continue to fulfill our mission of delivering financial solutions to improve member’s lives.”

The New Tampa branch is modeled after the Marshall Student Center branch on the University of South Florida (USF)’s main campus in Tampa. Like the Marshall Student Center branch, the New Tampa branch will feature an open teller concept in the lobby, green technology, and digital-image ATM deposits that require no envelope. It is a large facility at 14,157 square feet and features dual drive-thru lanes with cameras that allow members to communicate through video and voice.

“I feel that the physical presence of such a nice looking facility represents stability and conveys the strength of our organization,” said Michael Silvers, New Tampa branch manager. “In a tumultuous time in the banking industry, it’s refreshing to see expansion. I believe this branch will make an impression on both members and non-members alike.”

The New Tampa branch opening comes on the heels of USF FCU’s merger with West Coast Federal Employees Credit Union that was effective July 1. As part of the merger, USF FCU acquired two branch locations in Sarasota which allows the credit union to serve students at the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus, USF alumni, and other members living in Sarasota and Manatee County.

The current New Tampa branch will close at the end of the business day on Friday, October 27. On Monday, October 30, the new branch (located in the same shopping plaza) will be open to the public.
