Utah First Credit Union provides hundreds of new shoes and coats to local children this holiday season

SALT LAKE CITY, UT (December 4, 2015) — Utah First Credit Union, in association with The Community Volunteers of Utah, will literally warm the soles of over 800 underprivileged children in Utah with new shoes this Christmas. Utah First Credit Union has been helping Utah children through the “Warm the Soles” program for over 20 years. Every pair of shoes is thoughtfully chosen with the child’s gender, age, and shoe size, then wrapped and tagged for each child to open.

“We are grateful to our generous members and employees whose donations allow Utah First to truly be significant in the lives of these children and families,” says Utah First’s President/CEO, Darin B. Moody.

Utah First Credit Union and The Community Volunteers held their annual Wrapping Party on December 3, 2015 at the Utah First Business Center. More than 100 members of both organizations joined together to festively package each pair of shoes. The shoes will be delivered to several locations that will host “Shoe Parties” full of holiday cheer, including The Volunteers of America’s Homeless Youth Resource Center, The Boys and Girls Clubs, Guadalupe School, Bennion and Whittier Elementary Schools, and The Road Home. The party schedule, to date, is as follows:
