Holmdel, N.J. – United Teletech Financial Federal Credit Union (UTF) and the New Jersey Credit Union League (NJCUL) proudly announce the winners of the 2009 – 2010 statewide credit union scholarship program. UTFs top ranking students, Athena Huang of Holmdel and Paula Pilipovic of Middletown, were each awarded $500 scholarships to the universities of their choice. Athena will be attending Brown University this fall, while Paula has chosen Villanova University.
A small reception was held to honor the winners on June 16 at UTF’s Holmdel branch. The awards were presented by Michael Hou, 1st Vice Chairman of UTF’s Board of Directors and Bryan Eichenbaum, Vice President of Sales and Lending.
“We are very proud of the achievements of the students representing United Teletech Financial in this year’s statewide scholarship program,” said Eichenbaum. “We look forward to continuing to support the NJCUL in offering this scholarship to aspiring college candidates.”
Scholarships were available to all high school seniors who are members in good standing of NJCUL-affiliated credit unions. In addition to the $500 prizes awarded by UTF, the NJCUL awarded $1,000 scholarships to the top ranking students in each region. Winners were judged on scholastic achievement, extracurricular and community activities, teacher references and leadership qualities.
United Teletech Financial (UTF) is a not-for-profit credit union serving members in central New Jersey.
