UW Credit Union accepting applications for Community Values scholarships
MADISON, WI (February 8, 2016) — UW Credit Union is currently accepting applications for its Community Values scholarship program. Seven $2,000 scholarships will be given to high school seniors this May.
“In addition to being strong scholars, our scholarship program has an emphasis on finding individuals who share our commitment of improving people’s lives,” said Jaimes Johnson, Director of Community & Campus Relations at UW Credit Union. “Our recipients are focused on volunteering so our communities become better places to live.”
As part of the application process, students must submit an essay about their community service work and how it is meaningful to both themselves and their communities.
“Our communities become stronger through the caring and compassionate nature of individuals who not only identify a problem, but get involved to promote change,” said Johnson. “We’re looking forward to meeting these devoted individuals and rewarding them for their efforts.”
