UW Credit Union named one of Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Top Workplaces

MADISON, WI (April 25, 2016) — UW Credit Union has received the recognition of being named one of Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Top Workplaces. It is the first time the organization has won the award.

“It’s an honor to be named one of Milwaukee’s top employers,” said Lee Wiersma, Executive Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer. “Our workforce is highly engaged as they strongly believe in our mission of improving the financial lives of people.”

Employees participated in a confidential survey that asked about their level of engagement and the organization’s health. The survey was conducted by Workplace Dynamics, a research and consulting firm that specializes in workplace improvement and employee engagement analysis.

“Our ability to sustain high levels of member satisfaction has everything to do with the commitment of our highly satisfied workforce,” said Paul Kundert, President & CEO. “Consumer Reports’ readers recently ranked us first in customer satisfaction among Wisconsin financial institutions, and this Top Workplaces award shows the credit goes to our employees.”

UW Credit Union has six Milwaukee-area locations and opened its Wauwatosa location in October 2015. The company puts the best interests of both its members and employees first.

“We work hard to recruit and retain individuals who share our core values like a commitment for service and desire for excellence,” said Wiersma. “Because our employees are passionate about what they do, we support them with a highly competitive benefits package, a casual working environment and opportunity for growth.”

The full list of Top Workplaces and related stories appears in the April 24 issue of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. To view current job openings at the credit union and to learn what makes UW Credit Union a Top Workplace, visit uwcu.org/careers.
