San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), one of California’s largest locally-owned financial institutions, is proud to announce that SDCCU EVP of Information Technology, Valerie Kwiatkowski was named a 2021 Woman of Influence in Technology by the San Diego Business Journal. The award recognizes trailblazing women in the tech industry that lead the way with their contributions and commitment.
Kwiatkowski was selected for her commitment to innovation and excellence which has ensured the effective, efficient and secure operation of SDCCU’s automated processing systems. In her time with the credit union, her leadership has improved many areas of SDCCU’s overall operations and helped set the stage for continued expansion, growth and success.
Kwiatkowski joined SDCCU in 2018, bringing with her more than 20 years of experience in information technology management, which helped strengthen the credit union’s executive leadership team. Prior to joining SDCCU, Kwiatkowski served most recently on the Quality Engineering Team within Global IT for Apple, Inc., based in Cupertino, California. At Apple, she was responsible for implementing standard technology tools, processes and controls across all quality engineering teams within retail. She also served in IT leadership roles as Vice President of Global IT for Universal Electronics and Chief Information Officer for ICU Medical Inc. and Ports America.
Kwiatkowski earned her master’s degree in Public Management and Policy and her bachelor’s degree in Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She also holds the following certifications: CIO Leadership from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkley; IBM Executive Consultant from IBM Certification Board; and Business Process Reengineering from Price Waterhouse Consulting.
