Vantage West Credit Union to host block party at Crismon Gateway branch

Vantage West at Crismon Gateway (1815 S. Crismon Rd, Suite 102 in Mesa) is hosting a block party to celebrate its one-year anniversary at this location. The event will take place on Thursday, April 28 from 3pm – 5pm, with a ribbon cutting at 4pm. The event will include refreshments, souvenir gifts, and the chance to spin the prize wheel. There will also be special offers available for new Members.

“NOT A BANK”

While Vantage West offers a robust variety of consumer and commercial financial services, the credit union’s advertising boldly emphasizes the difference between Vantage West and traditional banks. For one, credit unions like Vantage West offer higher savings dividends, lower loan rates, and fewer fees than most traditional banks. Credit unions are also a local financial institution, so all the profits stay in the Arizona communities they serve.

WHAT IS A CREDIT UNION?

The primary difference between a bank and a credit union is that a bank exists to enhance the wealth of its shareholders while a credit union serves the unique needs of its Members. By holding an account with a credit union, you essentially become a shareholder. Credit unions like Vantage West are not-for-profit cooperatives. They invest their profits back into their Membership, and credit union employees and Members collaborate to achieve a common goal—taking care of each other and strengthening their communities. This is summed up in Vantage West’s mission statement: “Igniting collaborative relationships with Members and the communities we serve so we can thrive together.”
