Velera appoints Caldarelli as President

Chuck Fagan to continue as CEO until retirement at end of company’s fiscal year

St. Petersburg, FL (June 2, 2026) |

Velera, the nation’s premier payments credit union service organization (CUSO) and an integrated financial technology solutions provider, today announced that Brian Caldarelli has been appointed president and will oversee the company’s day-to-day operations. Charles E. (“Chuck”) Fagan III, who will retire at the end of the company’s current fiscal year on September 30, 2026, will remain CEO until his retirement. As previously announced, Caldarelli will succeed Fagan and become the company’s president and chief executive officer effective October 1, 2026.

“Brian and I, along with our Board and our Velocity Team, have been working closely together over the past several months to ensure a seamless leadership transition on October 1,” said Fagan. “This announcement reflects the strong progress that Brian has made in preparing for this role and is fully aligned with our shared goal of ensuring continuity for our clients, our employees and our partners. I remain fully engaged as CEO and will continue working alongside Brian over the coming months to support him and the broader organization, while focusing on continuing to advance our strategic pillars to position Velera and our financial institutions for sustained growth.”

In addition to deepening his engagement across the organization as he prepares to assume the president and CEO position on October 1, Caldarelli will continue with his committed plan to engage with Velera clients across the country.

“I’m honored and excited to take this next step as we move toward our leadership transition this fall,” said Caldarelli. “Over the coming months, I look forward to working even more closely with teams across Velera as we continue to build on our strong foundation. I remain deeply committed to our culture, to advancing innovation and next-generation technology, and to advocating for our clients and the credit union industry – all while ensuring we deliver the inspired service our partners expect from us every day.”
