VolCorp hits a home run with V-Portfolio
NASHVILLE, TN (October 3, 2017) — V-Portfolio is Volunteer Corporate Credit Union’s (VolCorp) suite of investment tools anchored by a proprietary online web portal. Created specifically with the needs of member credit unions in mind, it gives credit unions the ability to view the permissible investments available for purchase on any given day and conveniently make one or multiple purchases with the click of a mouse.
Back in 2013, VolCorp’s current SVP and Chief Investment Officer, Phillip Cochran, approached senior management with an idea which had never been implemented by a corporate credit union. The idea hinged on making a substantial investment to provide member credit unions with access to something for which they previously had to turn to others in the past. Rather than turning to banks or broker/dealers, VolCorp’s brokerage clients, with all securities sales offered through CU Investment Solutions, LLC their corporate-owned CUSO, could now have access to online trading, portfolio analytics, and bond accounting from a one-stop shop focused on their success. While offering specific aspects of V-Portfolio individually since 2014, the suite as a whole officially launched in 2016.
According to Phillip, VolCorp is the first, and only, corporate to successfully develop a web portal focused on making all investment purchases without typing an email or picking up the phone. That’s just one of the features available in V-Portfolio. V-Portfolio also includes powerful portfolio analytics, powered by BondEdge, the number one bond analytic platform in the world owned by Intercontinental Exchange (formerly IDC), the world’s premier securities pricing company. V-Portfolio doesn’t stop there. It also provides portfolio accounting designed to lessen the workload associated with preparing management and regulatory reports. V-Portfolio clients receive comprehensive reports that include bond investment accrued interest, projected cash flows, premium and discount accretions and amortizations, and a call report that provides the investment input required by regulators.
From the largest to the smallest investor, whether new to investing or a seasoned investor, VolCorp’s V-Portfolio combined with the expertise of our licensed brokerage reps gives credit unions a one-stop shop for investments.
