#VoteForMiracles campaign to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals eclipses 100,000 votes

Marie Osmond, Miss America and comedian Bill Engvall lend their support on social media; Over 1800 credit union communities step up to help local CMN Hospitals win $100,000

DANA POINT, CA (December 8, 2016) — Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals today announced that  #VoteForMiracles has surpassed 100,000 votes.

Currently, there is a three-way battle for the top spot between Children’s Hospital – New Orleans, Hurley Children’s Hospital, Flint, MI and Mercy Children’s Hospital, Toledo, OH with only 570 votes separating the three hospitals.  Dozens of other hospitals remain close behind in the race to secure a place among the top five.  The public can cast their vote at www.VoteForMiracles.org.  Individuals can vote once a day through the conclusion of the campaign on December 20.

The hospital with the most votes after the promotion ends will win $50,000. Second through fifth place will receive $20,000, $15,000, $10,000 and $5,000, respectively.  The $100,000 donation on behalf of America’s credit unions is made possible thanks to the continued generosity of CU4Kids’ lead supporter CO-OP® Financial Services.

“It’s been very satisfying to see the earned media and promotional benefits our credit unions have realized from this campaign.” remarked Douglas Kiker, Chief Strategic Communications Officer at CUNA.  “It’s exciting to see local media outlets and other community members promoting #VoteForMiracles and encouraging people to vote for their local hospitals while also publically thanking credit unions for their support.”

“We are excited with the wonderful response to Vote for Miracles so far and applaud our credit unions who have really gotten behind their respective hospitals to rally the vote among their staff, members and the community at large” remarked John Lauck, President and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

CMN Hospitals Co-Founder Marie Osmond, Miss America 2017, Savvy Shields and comedian Bill Engvall have also thrown their support behind the campaign by posting videos on their social media channels.

Designed to engage consumers, #VoteForMiracles hopes to drive awareness of credit unions by highlighting the credit union difference. During the voting process, voters are asked to “Choose their Credit Union.” The credit union that generates the most votes for the winning Children’s Miracle Network Hospital will be invited to be part of the check presentation at the culmination of the event.

Voting continues through December 20 at www.VoteForMiracles.org
