WebStrategies releases 2020-2021 credit union marketing survey results

The survey offers valuable insight for marketers seeking to understand which digital marketing tactics are most effective in the credit union industry.

WebStrategies Inc. announced the results of its 2020-2021 credit union marketing survey, an annual initiative that analyzes how credit unions are investing in digital marketing and which tactics are showing the strongest return on marketing investment.

“The goal of this survey is to create the most insightful industry report that exists on how credit unions are using and investing in digital marketing. There’s nothing else like this out there. We looked for it; we couldn’t find it, so we decided to create one for ourselves and to share it with you.” -Chris Leone, WebStrategies CEO 105 credit union marketers and executives took part in the online survey, providing a wealth of data on digital marketing trends in the credit union space in a tumultuous year. The survey received responses between November 2020 and April 2021.

Key insights from the credit union survey include:
● For the fourth year in a row, credit union survey respondents reported that they have the greatest success with email marketing.
● 84% of survey respondents said that digital marketing had become a higher priority in the past year.
● There was a 186% increase in credit unions using marketing automation compared to last year’s survey.
● 66% of respondents said that they will be increasing their digital marketing budget in 2021, even though 57% said that their total marketing budget will remain the same for 2021.
