Westerra Credit Union launches 2025-2026 School Grant Program

Educators Across Colorado Invited to Apply by November 21

DENVER, CO (October 30, 2025) |

For the first time, Westerra Credit Union (Westerra) opened its School Grant Program to educators across all of Colorado. The initiative – which has contributed roughly $550,000 to more than 1,000 schools in the Denver area over the last decade – strives to enhance students’ learning experiences by providing financial support for classroom materials, art supplies, sports fees and equipment, after-school programs and other resources deemed beneficial. Educators from early childhood through grade 12 are invited to apply for the 2025-2026 school year grant cycle now through November 21, 2025.

Westerra’s team carefully reviews each grant application to determine the potential impact of the requested funds. Past recipients have used the $500 grants to fund educational field trips, upgrade classroom technology, supplement the cost of sports gear and more.

“We have supported Denver’s educators through our grants, volunteer efforts and in-class financial literacy workshops for the last decade,” said Anneliese Elrod, chief operations officer at Westerra Credit Union. “As Westerra continues to grow, we’re committed to expanding our impact across Colorado, ensuring we pay tribute to our founders, eight schoolteachers, by empowering a new generation of educators.”

In addition to its School Grant Program, Westerra also funds a variety of district-based grant programs through partnerships with foundations supporting schools in Cherry Creek, Denver, Douglas County, Jefferson County, Littleton and Mapleton.
