Winners announced for 2017 GreenLight Business Model Competition

EAST LANSING, MI (April 27, 2017) — The GreenLight Business Model Competition, created by Spartan Innovations and MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU), announced winners and awarded $100,000 in cash prizes for its 2017 competition on March 29, 2017.
Created in 2013, the competition offers participants an opportunity to pitch business plans to a panel of judges, network with some of Michigan’s top talent in angel and venture capital investment, and encourage small business and startup ventures. In the competition’s five years, MSUFCU has been a co-creator, sponsor, and representative on the judging panel.
“It’s inspiring to see the entrepreneurs’ commitment, passion, and knowledge, showcased in their business plans and pitches,” said April Clobes, MSUFCU’s President and CEO. “Entrepreneurs create jobs and positively contribute to making our community, our region, and our state a more vibrant place to live and work. As an organization that believes in investing in the communities we serve, we are proud to help support local entrepreneurship.”
Winners of the 2017 competition include: MySwimPro for the MEDC Sponsored Grand Prize of $40,000; VADE Nutrition for the MSUFCU Sponsored Section Prize of $25,000; Switched Source for the Third Prize of $10,000; MTBIsense for the Fourth Prize of $7,500; Pretch for the Fifth Prize of $5,000; Parabricks for the Sixth Prize of $2,500; Kulisha for the Undergrad First Place prize of $6,500; CarryCott for the Undergrad Second Place prize of $2, 500; and Stir It Up for the Undergrad Third Place prize of $1,000.
