The Wisconsin League pushes for legislation
MADISON, WI (February 10, 2016) — The Wisconsin League kicked off at its recent state GAC a statewide push for legislation (AB 807/SB 690) to modernize the state credit union statute, Chapter 186.
In part, the bill would allow the state regulatory office (OCU) to accept a federal examination for the purpose of satisfying the 18-month exam requirement. (Link below has more detail)
Here’s the latest:
- The Assembly committee hearing was held Jan. 27.
- The state Assembly committee passed the bill unanimously on Feb. 3 by a vote of 12-0.
- The state Senate committee hearing was held Feb. 8.
- The full state Assembly votes on the bill tomorrow, Feb. 11.
