XDI reports record registrations for the 2018 Credit Union Chili Challenge

There’s still time to register a team for this annual charity event.

SAN DIEGO, CA (July 2, 2018) — Xpress Data, Inc., a leading provider of print and electronic document services for credit unions across the country, announced that a record number of teams will be competing in XDI’s 2018 Credit Union Chili Challenge. The annual event, which is sanctioned by the International Chili Society, will be held August 4 at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club racetrack in Del Mar, Calif. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a great day of chili and horse racing. According to XDI, there are still a limited number of spaces available for additional teams.

“We already have 23 teams registered for this year’s Chili Challenge, which tops the record we set last year,” said Xpress Data, Inc. Founder Mike Cooper. “That said, we’re happy to welcome even more teams to this important charity event.” Cooper stated that a total of $25,000 in prize money will be donated to charities designated by the first, second and third-place winners, as well as the People’s Choice winner.

Credit unions each provide a $500 entry fee, which goes toward the prize money, and XDI furnishes each credit union with a 10-foot by 10-foot canopy, two eight-foot tables, two chairs, a two-burner propane stove with propane, a nine-foot custom banner produced from artwork provided by the credit union, one parking pass, and four admission tickets to the racetrack. Credit unions need only provide their chili ingredients and utensils.

“Whether you compete or just show up to sample some fantastic chili, this is a great networking event, too,” said Cooper. “Each year, we build a little more momentum. Fire Watch from the $1.3 billion Firefighters First FCU of Los Angeles. They won both first place overall and the People’s Choice award. They donated $7,000 in prize money to their charity, the Fire Family Foundation.
