Credit Union West supports youth financial advocacy program
Credit Union Empowers Young Adults through Volunteer Program
GLENDALE, AZ (September 3, 2015) — Credit Union West is now accepting applications for their 2015-2016 Young Adult Advisory Panel. The credit union is looking for highly motivated young adults between the ages of 16 and 24 years to serve on the voluntary panel. The purpose of the panel, launched in 2013, is to engage young adults on financial topics and collaborate on ideas for innovative products and services that appeal to the younger generation.
The program runs through the school year where the youth meet monthly and interact with the various department managers to learn about the credit union’s products, services, and community commitment. “We’ve been fortunate to have a group of exceptionally bright high school and college students every year,” said Bob MacGregor, Credit Union West president and CEO. “These students are able to motivate and foster leadership among their peers and educate them on financial matters that relate to them.”
The Young Adult Advisory Panel members will act as ambassadors for Credit Union West at community volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Applications may be downloaded at www.cuwest.org/youthconnection and must be submitted by Friday, September 25. For more information, please contact evan.norris@cuwest.org.
