Zeal Credit Union appoints Associate Board Members

LIVONIA, MI (April 18, 2024) — Zeal Credit Union is honored to announce the appointment of two new officials to serve in advisement to the Board of Directors. These positions are newly designed to path the way forward to stewardship, governance, and advocacy for the next generation of pioneers.

Zeal Credit Union proudly welcomes Carmen Hughes of Government Employees Health Association in Detroit, MI, and Jonathon Guastella of Select 1 Group in Troy, MI to Zeal’s Board of Directors in the position of Associate Board Member.

“We look forward to having Jon and Carmen join Zeal Credit Union’s board of volunteers in these newly appointed positions. Their passion for service, and dedication to the spirit and mission of credit unions is exactly what the future of our credit union needs,” Zeal Chairperson Michael O’Hehir said. “As long-time members of Zeal, they’ll have the opportunity to shape the landscape of the credit union industry and steward on behalf of all members,” he said.

“This is another example of our Board strategically looking toward the future of Zeal,” said President/CEO, Julie Kreinbring. “We’re excited to add these two talented individuals to our team of volunteers and look forward to what the future holds,” she said.

Carmen Hughes has dedicated 33 years of service to federal employees, retirees, and their families at Government Employees Health Association and in other capacities in the heart of Detroit including 28 years with the United States Postal Service.

Jonathon Guastella, Chief Financial Officer at Select 1 Group in Troy, first began his career path as a cooperative student Teller at Zeal Credit Union. After completing his studies, he assumed various roles in the areas of accounting, auditing, and finance. It was his role as an external auditor that awarded his first assignment at none other than Zeal Credit Union.
