PSCU is bringing together credit union thought leaders and their leading-edge ideas to compete in its seventh annual innovation marathon, KnockOut. The 24-hour competition will take place May 14-16, 2019, at our headquarters in St. Petersburg, Fla. Fourteen teams from 11 different Owner credit unions – from Washington, D.C., to Hawaii – will compete to design the brightest, freshest solutions for the credit unions of tomorrow.
The theme for this year’s competition, “Discover Your Possibilities,” aligns with the event’s goal to help PSCU Owner credit unions effectively compete, win and prosper in the payments industry. KnockOut features four- to five-person teams that have 24 hours to ideate, design and present their breakthrough prototype and marketing ideas to a panel of judges. Each team must explain its product’s function, feasibility, industry impact, time to market, cost and ROI. The idea must also fall into one of three categories: member experience, credit union experience or growth.
Each team will select one presenter to sell its idea in seven minutes to the judging panel. Semi-finalists will then be selected to proceed to the Spotlight Round. Finalists will present and be videoed, and the winner will be voted on by PSCU employees and our Owner credit unions to determine first, second and third places.
