Even if what they do is outside your job description, help in any way you can to demonstrate your willingness to be a team player. Chances are if you assist a colleague with a work task, they’ll be inclined to help you out if you’re in need down the road.

What are you working on?
This question is especially important at larger companies with many staff members and multiple departments. It is easy to get lost in your own day to day duties, but don’t forget that although you work well independently and excel at what you do, there are others around you that are just as vital to meeting company goals. Understanding the different divisions of the organization will make you a more well-rounded teammate.
