Small-biz subcommittee to hear CUNA witness at today’s hearing

A U.S. House Small Business subcommittee will hear firsthand how regulations are stifling credit unions and the small businesses they serve, courtesy of Robin Simmers of Pahranagat Valley FCU, Alamo, Nev.

Simmers will be testifying on behalf of CUNA and the Nevada Credit Union League before the House Small Business subcommittee on investigations, oversight and regulations.
She will speak on a number of legislative solutions that Congress can enact to ease the regulatory burden on small institutions–institutions that in no way caused the financial crisis that has led to many of these regulations.
This includes legislative actions, as well as actions by Congress on agencies such as the National Credit Union Administration, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and Small Business Administration.
