The CUInsight Network podcast: Collateral protection – SWBC (#52)
Featuring Michael Dippo, SVP of Lender Placed Auto at SWBC
Thank you for tuning in to episode 52 of The CUInsight Network, with your host, Lauren Culp, Publisher & CEO of CUInsight.com. In The CUInsight Network, we take a deeper dive with the thought leaders who support the credit union community. We discuss issues and challenges facing credit unions and identify best practices to learn and grow together.
My guest on today’s show is Michael Dippo, SVP of Lender Placed Auto at SWBC. Michael began his career as a teller in college and he continues to add value to the financial industry with nearly 30 years at SWBC. The team at SWBC offers a wide range of insurance, mortgage, and investment services to financial institutions, businesses, and individuals so they can meet critical goals. Michael specifically works with SWBC’s Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI) carriers to manage existing CPI programs and refine useful coverages for a better future.
During our conversation, Michael talks about financial protection for credit unions and members. Much of his work is based in loan risk management and he shares how SWBC helps credit unions track insurance on collateral. Michael explains how insurance protects a lender’s interest in the collateral they finance as well. The conversation explores current trends on loan risk in the financial industry, specifically changes within the auto industry.
As we wrap up the episode, Michael talks about who he admires most, spending time with his family, and which non-profits he volunteers for and serves on the board. Enjoy my conversation with Michael Dippo!
