Visits with lawmakers highlight Wednesday at the GAC

One initiative CU leaders will share with policymakers is the Campaign for Common-Sense Regulation.

On Wednesday, CUNA GAC attendees will ascend Capitol Hill to share the credit union story with their state lawmakers.

“Hiking the Hill” is perhaps the most exciting part of GAC; it is the embodiment of democracy in action.

When credit unions participate in Hike the Hill, they demonstrate that credit union support has a real face, real concerns, and real stories of how credit unions affect the lives of working Americans.

One topic credit union representatives will share with policymakers is the Campaign for Common-Sense Regulation.

The campaign aims to take advantage of a favorable political climate by activating the full breadth of the credit union industry—CUNA, leagues, credit unions, and their members—to target and reduce excessive regulations promulgated by regulators in Washington that harm credit unions’ ability to fully serve members.
