BALTIMORE, MD (October 31, 2025) |
Securityplus Federal Credit Union joined thousands of participants at Camden Yards this past weekend for the 24th Annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, an event organized by Bmore Around Town in partnership with the American Cancer Society. The Baltimore-based credit union participated as part of its ongoing commitment to community engagement and charitable giving.
The walk drew survivors, caregivers, and supporters from across the region for a morning of reflection, unity, and philanthropy. Securityplus employees, family members, and friends represented the organization at the event, raising more than $5,000 this year—and counting—in support of the cause.
“For years, Securityplus has remained deeply committed to supporting causes that bring people together,” said Obinna Ndukwe, Chief People and Impact Officer. “Our efforts reflect a shared belief in what’s possible when compassion and purpose unite a community.”
Walking With Purpose and Heart
This year’s success was made possible thanks to the leadership and coordination of Tiffany Fowler, Tymeshia Alleyne, and Jessica Taylor, who rallied internal teams, promoted the event across member networks, and ensured Securityplus had a meaningful presence on the ground. They were joined by senior leaders including Jeff Gehris, Peter Minford, and numerous team members and their families who showed up ready to walk with purpose.
Volunteers wore pink proudly as they participated in activities, shared support with breast cancer warriors, and honored loved ones touched by the disease. In addition to fundraising, the team shared giveaways, handed out educational materials, and connected with the wider community on-site to promote wellness and awareness.
Securityplus and the Power of People Helping People
At Securityplus, community involvement is more than a value—it’s a mission in action. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, the credit union believes in building stronger communities through meaningful partnerships, member service, and purposeful outreach.
By joining the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer movement, Securityplus is contributing to the American Cancer Society’s life-saving initiatives, which includes:
- Funding innovative breast cancer research
- Providing free rides and lodging support for patients
- Offering 24/7 support services for those navigating their cancer journey
- Promoting early detection and prevention programs across the nation
Whether through walking, donating, or volunteering, the Securityplus team united in support of those affected by breast cancer and in pursuit of the shared goal of advancing the vision of a world without it.
