El Paso, TX (April 6, 2026) |
Raiz Federal Credit Union is now accepting applications for its 2026 Empowering Leaders Society, a leadership program designed to bring their fresh perspectives and goals of Gen Z into Raiz initiatives while supporting the growth and success of the next generation of leaders.
The Empowering Leaders Society offers college and university students the chance to gain practical experience, grow professionally, and give back to their community. Through the program, participants will work with Raiz teams and peers to develop and implement a marketing campaign from start to finish, contributing ideas to help shape the future of Raiz.
“Empowering the next generation starts with giving students the confidence, voice, and opportunity to lead,” said Max Villaronga, President and CEO of Raiz Federal Credit Union. “Through the Empowering Leaders Society, we are investing in students by offering meaningful, career-building experiences and a supportive space to share their ideas, helping them shape not only their own futures, but the future of financial services in our community.”
“This program is designed to empower students to turn ideas into real-world impact,” said Alejandro Yu, Vice President of Marketing at Raiz Federal Credit Union. “Participants will collaborate on a marketing campaign, learn how strategies come to life, and play a meaningful role in initiatives that speak directly to their generation.”
Participants will gain hands-on experience in brainstorming, execution, and analysis of campaign performance while strengthening leadership and communication skills. The program is designed to provide a well-rounded professional development experience, including increasing members’ financial knowledge and deepening their understanding of how a credit union operates, such as member engagement, financial services, and community impact.
The Empowering Leaders Society will run from August 2026 to May 2027, with participants attending bi-monthly in-person meetings at Raiz’s Rojas location in El Paso, Texas. Upon successful completion, participants will receive program incentives and a letter of recommendation for their future pursuits.
Applications are open now through April 30, 2026. To apply, students must be a Raiz Federal Credit Union member, be 18 years or older, and be actively pursuing an education at a college or university.
