LEAGUE CITY, TX (April 21, 2026) |
After more than 75 years serving southeast Texas, Associated Credit Union of Texas (ACU of Texas) has rebranded as Openland Credit Union.
While the name is new, the credit union’s ownership, leadership, and commitment to its members remain. The Openland name reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to helping members build stronger financial futures while creating space for more of what matters most.
“We’re still the same member-owned, community-focused credit union our members have trusted for generations,” said Clay Franks, President and CEO. “The same people, the same mission, and the same focus on helping our neighbors succeed financially. Openland simply gives us a name that better reflects who we are and where we’re headed.”
“The new name and brand give us room to grow while staying rooted in the same values that got us here,” says Franks. In fact, some aspects of the new brand were never up for debate. “The words ‘Credit Union’ in our name were non-negotiable,” he says. “Credit unions were founded on the idea of people helping people, and that will always be at the heart of what we do.”
Even with a new name, logo, and visual identity, the essentials of the member experience are staying the same. Members have begun to see the new name across branches, digital banking platforms, and the credit union’s website, while the everyday tools they rely on and familiar branch relationships will not change.
