Austin Telco Federal Credit Union (ATFCU) is thrilled to announce the promotion of Christopher (Chris) Mraz to Executive Vice President (EVP) of Enterprise Strategy and Chief Strategy Officer (CSO).
Chris began his career with Austin Telco Federal Credit Union in 2002 as a part time teller before transitioning into Information Systems while attending the University of Texas at Austin. In 2004, he joined the organization full-time as an Information Systems Coordinator, supporting core systems including Symitar. Recognizing opportunities in infrastructure and networking, Chris advanced into senior technology roles and led the architecture and deployment of technology for several new branch locations, supporting the credit union’s early expansion.

He was promoted to Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer in 2013, where he oversaw key digital enhancements including bill pay, mobile deposit, and card tokenization.
After earning his Executive MBA from the University of Texas at Austin in 2021, Chris was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2022, expanding his oversight to include Technology, Information Security, and Digital Experience. In 2023, his title evolved to Senior Vice President of Technology and Strategic Initiatives, reflecting his leadership in aligning strategy across the organization.
In April, Chris completed the CUES CEO Institute and earned the Certified Chief Executive designation, a recognized standard of executive leadership within the credit union industry.
Upon discussing his promotion, Chris expressed gratitude and optimism for the future, stating, “I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities Austin Telco has provided throughout my career. Beginning as a part time teller and growing into my current role has given me a deep appreciation for our members, our team, and our mission. Each step along the way has strengthened my commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and strategic growth. I am proud of what we have accomplished together and remain focused on positioning Austin Telco for continued success in the years ahead.”
