Shawn Bailey presents “State of the Credit Union Address.”

TEXAS CITY, TX (November 21, 2013) -- On Tuesday, November 5, 2013 AMOCO Federal Credit Union’s CEO, Shawn Bailey presented his “State of the Credit Union Address” to over 100 Select Employee Groups (SEGs).

A SEG is a business or non-profit organization that is partnered with AMOCO and shares a mutually beneficial relationship. The AMOCO event was held at Landry’s in Kemah, which is also a SEG.

Diving into his presentation, Shawn started off his speech talking about AMOCO’s past achievements and present endeavors. He explained to our SEGs that over five years ago the expansion of AMOCO was only a vision and a dream, but in time we turned it into a reality. His speech about “where we’ve been and where we are headed,” mentioned successful tactics we’ve used as a business and were meant to inspire our SEGs to utilize the same concept for their own businesses. Shawn highlighted themes of: preventing a crisis instead of cleaning one up and to use “e-nnovation” to help a business think outside the box.

Upon the many topics covered at the luncheon, Shawn mainly talked about our new Clear Lake Branch that is now open and ready for business. Although it might be called a “micro” branch, there is nothing micro about it. The Clear Lake Branch provides full service just like any other AMOCO branch.

While we might not know what AMOCO’s future ventures are yet, we are happy just servicing and satisfying our 70,000 plus members for the time being.
